A hit-and-run crash is under investigation in Harris County after a pedestrian was killed and another was injured when a vehicle struck them while they were changing a tire on an Eastex Freeway feeder road near Gaston Street, according to officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The deadly incident happened around 3 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said two pedestrians were outside a vehicle stopped in the11500 block of Eastex Freeway, changing a tire when a silver SUV failing to drive in a single lane struck both of them, killing a man and injuring a woman. The SUV driver failed the stop and render aid and fled the scene, officials said.
The woman suffered no major injuries, officials said.
