Early morning crash sends one to hospital in Clark County

MAD RIVER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) said they were investigating an injury crash in Mad River Township. Investigators said the crash happened at 6:00 a.m. Sunday on IR 70 near milepost 46. OSHP said that a person was hit by a car while standing near their vehicle.

OSHP investigators said Jake Maggs, 21 of Kettering struck a deer while driving his 2017 Ford. The animal impact had disabled his vehicle. Marsha Wheelock, 71 of West Milton was traveling east on IR 70.

The investigators said that Maggs was standing near his vehicle when he was hit by Wheelock’s vehicle. Maggs was transported by MedFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Wheelock was not hurt in the accident. OSHP said they will be continuing to investigate the incident.
