NEW CASTLE, Delaware (WPVI) – A woman was killed after her car struck the back of a tractor-trailer early Monday morning on Interstate 95 in New Castle, Delaware.
The crash happened around 3:10 a.m. near Route 1.
According to police, the 34-year-old Newark woman was traveling northbound when, for an unknown reason, her car drifted out of the lanes and into the right shoulder.
Her Ford Fusion then hit the back of the tractor-trailer, which was stopped on the shoulder.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld while family members are notified.
The truck driver was not hurt.
