Tragic accident happened on northbound shoulder of U.S. 287 near Stratford STRATFORD, TX, (July 25, 2020) - Lauro Escobar, 35, of Sunray, was sadly killed by a hit-and-run driver as he changed his flat tire on the northbound shoulder of U.S. 287 on Saturday, July 25, near Stratford.Mr. Escobar was changing a tire on his Dodge Ram at about 12:30 a.m. when a vehicle failed to maintain a single lane and hit him. The driver kept going and remains at large.
Mr. Escobar was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
