TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Billy Ray Polk, 36, of Temple, was in the Bell County Jail Thursday facing an intoxication assault charge after a man and a woman who were changing a tire late Wednesday night on an Interstate 35 exit ramp were struck by a vehicle whose driver did not stop.
The victims, who were struck just before midnight Wednesday on the Exit 304 ramp on the northbound interstate in Temple, were both taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where they were in stable condition Thursday.
Police later found the vehicle that him them.
Polk was booked into the Bell County Jail just after 1:45 a.m. Thursday.
