SCHP: 1 killed, 3 hurt after car strikes disabled truck in Florence Co.

FLORENCE, S.C. (WCIV) — The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person was killed and three other injured in a crash on Saturday.

Lance Cpl. Nick Pye said the crash occurred in the area of Cale Yarbrough Highway and Cartersville Highway around 11:47 p.m.

A 1987 Buick coupe was traveling north on Cale Yarbrough Highway when it struck a pickup truck that was disabled on the side of the road from a previous collision.Three people were standing outside the truck at the time. Two were injured and one was killed, according to the SCHP.

Those two people, and the driver of the Buick, were transported to a local hospital.

SCHP is investigating with the assistance of the MAIT team.
