LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the driver of the vehicle who died as a result of an accident that occurred Tuesday, November 2, on I-20 in Lexington County.
Around 3:50 p.m., Mr. Sahib Singh Cheema, 61, of Lexington, was traveling eastbound on I-20 near mile marker 40 when his vehicle went off the right side of the highway and struck the rear end of a tractor trailer. Cheema, who troopers say were not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The incident is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
