A woman who had gotten out of her car after parking on the shoulder of the Belt Parkway was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday, police said.
Emma Risper, 56, of Scotrun, Pa., was struck at around 3 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway in southern Brooklyn, NYPD said.
The driver who struck Risper fled and has not been identified, police said.First responders arrived at the scene at 3:05 a.m. to find Ridper unconscious and unresponsive with “severe head and body trauma,” NYPD said. She was transported to Coney Island Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
