MARY ESTHER — A 53-year-old Navarre man was killed Monday after he was reportedly struck by a pickup truck while crossing U.S. Highway 98.
The crash happened around 7:06 p.m. on U.S. Highway 98, west of Skylark Road in Okaloosa County, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man stopped his vehicle on the northern shoulder of U.S. Highway 98 after he was involved in another crash. The other vehicle came to a stop in the center median.
The 53-year-old exited his vehicle and attempted to cross the westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 98 to make contact with the other driver, the FHP reported.
