Motorcyclist, good Samaritan killed in hit-and-run crash in Sanford

SANFORD, Fla. — Two people are dead following a hit-and-run in Sanford, according to police.

Officers around 1 p.m. responded to a call of a crash between a car and a motorcycle on State Road 46 near Summerlin Avenue. The car involved fled the scene, according to police.A good Samaritan stopped to render aid to the motorcyclist. That’s when another vehicle traveling westbound on State Road 46 crossed over the median and struck the good Samaritan and motorcyclist, killing both of them.The vehicle fled the scene and went onto airport property. The driver was apprehended by police and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. Police are still looking for the original car involved in the crash and are asking witnesses to come forward.
