Police: Woman killed by oncoming driver while standing outside her disabled car on the LIE

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle early Saturday while standing outside her disabled car on the Long Island Expressway, police say.

Police say the incident happened near exit 66 in Yaphank when the woman’s car broke down in the right lane around 3 a.m.

The victim was hit by an oncoming driver.

Her name has not been released.
