A man was killed Thursday evening in a crash on Interstate 59/20 in western Birmingham.
The victim, an adult white male, has not yet been identified, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.
The crash happened at 4:48 p.m. on I-59/20 between Arkadelphia Road and Bush Boulevard. Authorities said the victim was a passenger in a Ford Explorer that was traveling southbound when the SUV struck the back of an 18-wheeler parked on the roadway’s shoulder.The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 5:40 p.m. Birmingham police are investigating.
