Names released in deadly I-64 crash

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - The names of two people who died Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 64 East in Carter County have been released.

Ernest D. Dryden and Marilynn Dryden, both 68, were the victims, according to Kentucky State Police.

The accident happened late Friday morning at the 168-mile marker, involving three vehicles that hydroplaned. The Drydens were occupants of a minivan.

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - The eastbound lanes of I-64 have reopened after a double fatal crash, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The accident happened at the 168-mile marker.

Kentucky State Police say a truck hydroplaned on I-64 east. A second truck tried to help them. That’s when a third vehicle, a mini-van, hydroplaned and crashed into the trucks. A man and woman inside the van were killed.

A detour was previously set up but has ended.

No names have been released.
