FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 57 in Franklin County at 3:25 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31.
The crash was reported in the northbound lanes at the 70 mile marker, which is just south of the Benton exit.
According to Illinois State Police, a car was stopped in the middle of the road and a SEMI tractor-trailer coming up a hill hit the car.
Two people in the car were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.The driver and a passenger in the SEMI were not hurt.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash blocked one northbound lane.
All lanes of traffic have been reopened.
