One Killed, Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on US-93 near Jerome, ID

Jerome, ID — October 17, 2022, one person died and two were injured in a multi-vehicle accident along U.S. Highway 93 near Jerome.

Authorities say the incident happened around 6:25 a.m. along US-93 near mile marker 66. Preliminary investigation suggests a Honda Pilot was traveling south on the highway when the driver started to make a left turn at 750 N Road. As the Pilot started to turn a Honda CR-V crashed into it from behind.

Shortly after the Pilot was disabled in the middle of the intersection a southbound Peterbilt semi-truck hauling potatoes passed through and struck it on the right side. The semi then veered partway into the northbound lane and crashed with an oncoming Kenworth tractor-trailer. Finally, a Nissan Pathfinder behind the Peterbilt crashed into its rear.

The Peterbilt driver died at the scene. The Kenworth and Nissan drivers were taken by ambulance to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation continues. No further information is currently available.
