Brevard County, FL — October 19, 2022, two men were injured in an accident involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 95 in Brevard County.
Authorities say the incident happened around 5:00 p.m. on I-95 near State Road 520. Preliminary investigation suggests an 18-wheeler was stopped on the shoulder with reported mechanical issues and its 22-year-old driver had placed cones or reflectors behind it.
Shortly afterward a southbound heavy-duty straight truck drifted onto the shoulder for unknown reasons and hit the disabled big rig. After the impact one of the trucks hit two southbound sedans passing nearby.
The straight truck’s driver suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken to an area hospital. The disabled truck’s driver reportedly received minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation continues. No further information is currently available.
