Garland, TX — November 1, 2022, one person died and another was injured when a semi-truck hit another on the shoulder of Interstate 30 in Dallas County.
Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 5:00 a.m. on westbound I-30 near Zion Road. Preliminary investigation suggests an 18-wheeler was stopped on the shoulder for unknown reasons when another westbound big rig ran onto the shoulder and crashed into it. After the impact both trucks hit the retaining wall and one caught fire.
One person in the striking big rig was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person from that truck was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition. The driver of the truck that was hit was treated and released.
The investigation continues. No further information is currently available.
