David Singletary Killed in Crash with 18-Wheeler on Hwy 49 in Stone County, MS

Stone County, MS — May 27, 2022, 55-year-old David Singletary was killed when a car hit a parked 18-wheeler off Highway 49 in Stone County.

According to reports the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. on Highway 49. Preliminary investigation suggests 33-year-old Jacob Anderson was northbound in a passenger vehicle when he lost control for unknown reasons.

The car left the road onto the right shoulder where it crashed into the back of a stopped tractor-trailer. After the initial impact a second vehicle carrying four people crashed into the scene.

Singletary, a passenger in Anderson’s car, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation. No further information is currently available.
