Deadly Florida crash kills 1 driver, injures pedestrian who stopped to help

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A driver was killed after getting out of his disabled vehicle on I-95 in Brevard County Saturday morning.

Investigators say the man’s Nissan Altima hit a guardrail in the northbound lanes at mile marker 189 just after 5:30 a.m.

A good Samaritan stopped to help and got him out of the vehicle, then both the driver and the pedestrian were hit by a car.

The drivers and the pedestrian were taken to Viera Hospital, where the Altima driver was pronounced dead.

The other driver and the pedestrian were treated for minor injuries.
