An 8-year-old Winthrop girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a pickup in Winthrop Monday evening.
The State Patrol says the child was taken to HCMC in Minneapolis for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The Patrol says the child was a passenger in a semi that was parked on the shoulder of Highway 19 near North Redwood Street when she stepped into the roadway and was hit by the pickup.
The driver of the semi, a 35-year-old Winthrop man, and the driver of the pickup, a 74-year-old Maple Grove man, were not injured.
The incident happened just before 6:30pm.
