CAMDEN, NJ, (August 26, 2022) - A pedestrian was seriously injured Friday evening when he was hit by a motor vehicle along the Atlantic City Expressway in Camden County.
According to New Jersey State Police, a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound along the highway when the driver stopped along the right shoulder to repair a flat tire. While one person was outside the vehicle changing the tire a westbound GMC Yukon traveled off the road, struck the pedestrian, and overturned.
The person changing the tire was badly hurt and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
43-year-old Steven Ray Davis Jr., of Downington, Pa., was identified as the driver of the GMC. Law enforcement officials confirmed he died in the wreck.
Additional details were not immediately known as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
