Vernon, CT — August 22, 2022, truck driver Travis Dorsey was seriously injured in a crash between two 18-wheelers on Interstate 84 in Vernon.
According to reports the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on I-84 east between exits 64 and 65. Preliminary investigation suggests Dorsey was driving east on the interstate near exit 65 when he allegedly drifted out of the right lane onto the shoulder and hit the back of a parked big rig. The impact pushed the parked truck into a nearby light pole.
After the impact Dorsey was entrapped in his truck. Firefighters extricated him after about an hour of effort and he was airlifted to an area hospital. The other driver, identified as Olusola Adeoti, reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.
