SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Utah Highway Patrol is reminding all drivers to pull over to the right shoulder when experiencing car problems.
UHP posted photos from a crash that began with a flat tire on their Facebook page.
Utah Highway Patrol said the crash happened on I-15 in Davis County on Tuesday.
According to troopers, the car was hit after the driver pulled onto the narrow left shoulder and partially blocked the HOV lane.
Drivers were reminded by officials, if you need to pull over or stop on the freeway, always do so on the right shoulder of the road.
“This is also a good reminder to scan ahead and follow the move over law for Emergency Vehicles, EMS, Tow Drivers, and UDOT. Get in good practice to move over for any vehicle on the shoulder,” officials said.
According to UHP, there has been 34 fatalities in the United States in 2022, among first responders including police, fire, tow operator, roadside assistance, and UDOT officials.
