GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — One person is dead and another is injured following a crash on I-95 in Glynn County on Friday night.
It happened in the southbound lanes near mile marker 39 at approximately 9:46 p.m.
According to Georgia State Patrol, three separate crashes occurred.
GSP said in the first crash, a Honda Accord rear ended a Toyota Tacoma. That caused the Tacoma to travel off the west shoulder of the roadway. The Accord became disabled in the middle southbound lane.
In the second crash, GSP said a Honda CRV hit the debris from the first crash and became disabled in the median emergency lane. No injuries were reported in either of the first two crashes.
In the third crash, GSP said a semitruck stopped in the middle lane due to the disabled Accord from the first crash. A second semitruck hit the rear trailer of the stopped semi, causing the driver to be thrown from the second semi. The second semi then traveled towards the west shoulder of the road, striking a Volvo semi, causing both vehicles to travel off the west shoulder into a DOT fence.
The driver of the second semi did not survive.
