Trucker killed on I-4 in Plant City after hitting another trucker

A tractor trailer driver was killed Tuesday morning after he hit a truck that was disabled on an exit ramp from Interstate 4 in Plant City, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Troopers said the crash occurred at 7:52 a.m. at Interstate 4 and Park Road.

The driver of the tractor trailer, who troopers said is a 61-year-old Tampa man, lost control, went onto the shoulder and hit a truck tractor that was disabled and parked at the Park Road exit ramp. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he died, troopers said.

The driver of the truck that was parked on the shoulder, a 52-year-old Riverview man, suffered minor injuries, troopers said.

The names of the people involved were not released by the Highway Patrol.
