Victim was struck Monday morning along U.S. Highway 30

TAMA, IA, (September 26, 2022) - The Iowa State Patrol responded to a collision on Monday morning that involved a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian in Tama.

Police Lights Kofi Adu-Sarkodi was injured on Monday morning when a tractor-trailer crashed into his disabled vehicle along U.S. Highway 30 in Tama. According to an ISP crash report, 37-year-old Kofi Adu-Sarkodi of Solon was standing outside of his 2013 Ford F-450 that was disabled in the right lane of U.S. Highway 30. At around 8 a.m., a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer, driven by 63-year-old John Perkins of Eagle River, collided with the disabled truck and then jackknifed and caught fire.

Both Adu-Sarkodi and Perkins were transported by Tama Ambulance to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by ISP.
