JACKSON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - One person is dead after a fiery crash on I-94 in Jackson County Friday morning, causing eastbound I-94 between Parma Road and Dearing Road to close.
According to authorities at the scene, a 24-year-old man from Decatur was traveling eastbound on I-94 in a construction zone. The car struck a tanker truck that had broken down in the middle of the road.
The truck had its safety equipment and signals deployed. The 24-year-old suffered fatal injuries from the crash and died-on scene.
No one else was in his vehicle.
Authorities said the roadway is expected to reopen at around 12:30 p.m.
