High Point Police investigating crash, one person with life-threatening injuries

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point Police Department said it is investigating a crash that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

Police said they responded to Jamestown Parkway near North Scientific Street around 1:07 a.m. on Friday, for a report of a crash with injuries.

At the scene, investigators said one car had a mechanical issue and was stopped partially in the Eastbound travel lane.

They said the driver got out of the vehicle and was standing in the road.

Officials said the driver’s car and the roadway did not have any lights on.

Police said the driver of another car traveling Eastbound, did not see the other driver in the road or the vehicle.

That’s when the stopped vehicle and the driver in the road were hit.

Officials said the driver, who was hit, was taken to the hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but the area has been cleared.
