FRESNO, CA (October 9, 2023) — A man was hit and injured by a car on Jensen Avenue near Chestnut Avenue Thursday night.
According to Fresno officers, the man hit on Jensen Avenue happened around 11:30 p.m. For an unknown reason, the victim was having engine trouble and parked the car on the side of the road. Subsequently, he exited his vehicle before an oncoming vehicle struck him and his disabled car.
The driver pulled over and waited for the authorities to arrive. As for the man hit, paramedics took him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities do not know the details leading to the crash. However, they have ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors. If anyone has seen this accident, please call Fresno Police Officers.
The road is dangerous, especially at night. If your car breaks down, flip on your hazard lights. Stay in your vehicle or, if possible, exit the freeway and pull over someplace safer than the highway. It may be difficult for oncoming traffic to spot your car. All drivers, however, should be alert and focused to respond to danger ahead.
