SAVANNAH, Ga. — Motorists sit in traffic for hours after a car crash on I-16 early Friday morning.
A two-vehicle collision on I-16 between Chatham Parkway and the 516 interchange happened just after midnight Friday.
According to people at the scene, a person was changing his tire on the side of the road when another vehicle ran into that one.
The initial crash then caused a multi-vehicle pileup.
One person called into the WJCL 22 newsroom, saying they had been in standstill traffic for over an hour.
There is no word on how long that portion of I-16 will be closed.
We have reached out to police and are waiting for more information.
