Man helping with disabled vehicle injured in Harrisburg hit-and-run: police

A man is in critical condition after a driver crashed into him Wednesday in Harrisburg, then fled the scene, police said.

The man was trying to help with a vehicle that had broken down at Cameron and Paxton streets when he was hit around 8:15 p.m., according to police.

Police said the driver who hit the man was traveling through the Cameron and Paxton intersection at the time and left the area without stopping after the crash.

The make and model of the vehicle and where it was last seen were not immediately available.

Harrisburg police are asking anyone with information to call Dauphin County dispatch at 717-558-6900. Tips can also be submitted through CrimeWatch.
