UPDATE: Jacksonville man killed on I-95 southbound crash after hitting disabled vehicle

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A Jacksonville man is dead after hitting a disabled vehicle Sunday morning on I-95 near International Golf Parkway, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

FDOT said emergency vehicles in St. Johns County were on I-95 south at International Golf Parkway with all lanes closed with severity listed as “major.” The crash was near mile marker 321.

According to FHP’s report, a sedan driven by a 45-year-old Jacksonville man traveled off the roadway onto the right shoulder and collided with a parked disabled vehicle. After the impact with the disabled vehicle, whose driver sustained minor injuries, the sedan was redirected into the center lane and its driver was pronounced dead on scene.

The report said the man was not wearing a seatbelt.
