A 21-year-old man is in critical condition after someone crashed into him while he pushed his disabled car off of a Savannah road, according to police.
Savannah Police Department released details of the serious injury crash on Friday, saying the crash happened Thursday night.
A car driven by Kevin Deal, 21, reportedly broke down at the intersection of Eisenhower Drive and Noble Oaks Drive around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
A stranger stopped to help Deal move the disabled sedan out of the way of traffic, police said in a news release on Friday morning.
The news release explained that someone driving another car slammed into Deal and then Deal’s vehicle while Deal was pushing the car from the rear and the Good Samaritan was in the driver seat steering.
Deal was taken to Memorial Medical Center, and police said that he is in “critical but stable condition.”
The Traffic Investigation Unit at SPD is investigating the crash, telling WJCL 22 News that Deal’s Honda Accord did have its hazard lights flashing at the time of the crash.
