Police: Ohio man hit, killed while trying to push disabled vehicle on US-50

GREENDALE, Ind. — A 19-year-old man has died after he was hit while trying to push his vehicle up the road in southeast Indiana, according to Indiana State Police.

ISP said it happened Thursday around 7:30 p.m. when 19-year-old Lee Thomas was driving on US 50 in Greendale and his car became disabled in the roadway.

ISP said Thomas was trying to push the vehicle while his 15-year-old passenger was steering it from the driver’s seat when he was hit by another vehicle.

The crash pushed Thomas’ vehicle into the roadway where it collided with a third vehicle before coming to a stop.

Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 15-year-old passenger in Thomas’ vehicle and the driver of the vehicle that struck him suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
