A motorist traveling on Interstate 295 in Gloucester County was killed Tuesday morning when another vehicle struck his car after it became disabled in a crash.
Giovanni Adames, 30, of Rahway, was traveling northbound in Greenwich Township near milepost 16.6 when he was involved in an accident with an unknown vehicle, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.
The collision left Adames’ vehicle disabled in the left center lane of the interstate, Curry said.
Shortly after 6 a.m., another car traveling in that lane struck the rear of Adames’ car.
Adames was killed and the driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries, Curry said.
An investigation of the incident is ongoing, according to police.
