FHP: Minor injuries reported after sedan rear-ended disabled SUV on Dames Point Bridge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a disabled vehicle was hit on the Dames Point Bridge late Sunday night.

According to the crash report, a sedan was traveling north on I-295 on the Dames Point Bridge. The driver failed to see that a SUV was disabled due to a flat tire and was partially obstructing the right lane. The sedan hit the rear of the SUV, and after impact, both vehicles were disabled blocking the center and right northbound lanes on the bridge.

FHP had to free one trapped individual, but only two out of the four people involved were injured. The 21-year-old man driving the sedan and a 20-year-old woman riding in the SUV suffered minor injuries.

FHP said that everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
