ORANGE, FL, (July 05, 2023) - Two people were seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident on July 5 in Orange County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the crash occurred at about 7 a.m. on Ocoee Apopka Road near Demastus Lane when a Honda CR-V driven by 24-year-old Eugenio Cuevas lost control and traveled across the roadway and onto the southbound shoulder. The Honda then hit two people standing outside a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Cuevas and a passenger in the Honda allegedly fled the scene after the accident.
The two unidentified victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of critical injuries. Cuevas has been charged with failing to stop or remain at a crash involving serious injury, a felony, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
