UPDATE: Troopers identify man killed in Route 1 multi-vehicle crash

Delaware State Police have identified a 78-year old Smyrna man who was kiled in a multi-vehicle accident Thursday morning on Route 1 near the Frederica Turf Complex.

According to state police, Larry Cox was driving southbound around 6:30 a.m., when his car struck the rear of the car in front of him.

Both vehicles pulled off the roadway onto opposite shoulders, and as Cox attempted to cross the highway, he was hit by a minivan and killed.

The minivan then crashed into a fourth vehicle.

Four other people were treated and released at the hospital for minor injuries.
