SIMI VALLEY, CA (October 29, 2024) — Two people died after a motorcycle hit a person standing on Highway 118 near Rocky Peak Road.
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports of an accident around 6:05 a.m. Sunday. Upon dispatch, CHP officers found a 33-year-old Canoga Park woman and a 54-year-old Simi Valley man with fatal injuries.
According to a preliminary investigation, the woman crashed her vehicle into a guardrail for unknown reasons. Subsequently, her 2020 Nissan Altima veered out of control and struck the center median. She proceeded to exit her car, standing in the traffic lanes when an oncoming 2020 Triumph motorcycle crashed into her. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and landed on the road.
At this time, officials have not identified the victims, pending notification of their families. Investigators did not say if alcohol or drugs played a part in the accident. If anyone has more to add to this crash, call the CHP’s Moorpark Area Office.
