Georgia man killed in crash involving 2 tractor-trailers in Calhoun Co.

CALHOUN COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - A Georgia man was killed in a crash Oct. 4 when his car was hit by a tractor-trailer on I-20 in Calhoun County.

The victim has been identified as George H. Curtis of Villa Ricca. He was 59.

Authorities say Curtis’s Honda initially hit a Freightliner tractor-trailer. That accident caused the Honda to become disabled and then a Volvo tractor-trailer struck the disabled Honda.

After the second crash, the Honda and Volvo tractor-trailer left the road and caught fire. Curtis died at the scene.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating.
