Two hospitalized after rear-end crash early Tuesday on I-70 in KCK

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WIBW) - Two people were taken to the hospital following a rear-end collision early Tuesday on Interstate 70 in Wyandotte County, officials said.

The crash was reported at 1:39 a.m. Tuesday on westbound on I-70 in Kansas City, Kan. The locatiion was on I-70 just west of the 78th Street exit.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2024 Honda 4-door vehicle was stopped in the roadway for an unknown reason and was struck in the read by a 2023 Hyundai Elantra.

Following the collision, the Honda came to rest on the side of the road while the Hyundai came to rest in the median.

Both drivers, who were alone in their vehicles, were transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., with suspected minor injuries, the patrol said.

The Honda’s driver was identified as Leonardo D’Angelo Richburg, 28, of Virginia Beach, Va., while the Hyundai’s driver was identified as Harrison Alexander Boehm, 22, of Shawnee.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, the patrol said.
