PITTSBURGH, PA — A man attempting to push his disabled vehicle off I-279 North was hit by a >
truck and two Pennsylvania State Troopers who responded to that crash were hit by another vehicle early Tuesday. All three people are in the hospital.
Police said that shortly after midnight, a Ford Focus became disabled on the Parkway North near the McKnight Road exit. As the driver got out to push the vehicle off the road, another person pulled over to help. Police said a Dodge Ram 1500 hit the driver of the Focus and fled the scene. The Focus driver was taken to the hospital.
Police said two troopers investigating that incident were in a marked police vehicle that had its emergency lights on when it was hit by a Toyota4Runner. The troopers were taken to the hospital.
Police are now searching for the driver of the Black Dodge Ram 1500 that fled the scene.
