PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — An early Friday morning crash involving a tractor-trailer shut down parts of Interstate 95 in Prince George’s County, leaving one driver dead and causing traffic delays.
According to Maryland State Police (MSP), around 3:45 a.m., troopers from the Forestville Barrack responded to a crash in the area of northbound I-495 and Anacostia Freeway and discovered that the driver of a Jeep Compass struck the rear end trailer portion of a tractor-trailer on the left-hand portion of the shoulder.
The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSP.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Jeep Compass’ drive crashed with the rear trailer of a tractor-trailer parked on the left shoulder.
The tractor-trailer driver declined medical treatment.
