Three people avoided serious injuries after a crash involving a disabled vehicle on I-95 in Bristol Township.
Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched last Friday just before 10 p.m. for a reported crash in the northbound lanes of the highway.
The 25-year-old Bristol man who was the driver of the 2019 Nissan Sentra and the 28-year-old Bristol woman who was his passenger had pulled over due to a flat tire. The car had its flashers on while the two awaited assistance, troopers said.
A 2019 Honda CRV driven by a 51-year-old Newtown man drifted into the shoulder and struck the rear side of the Sentra.
The CRV rolled multiple times before coming to a rest on the highway, state police said.
The Sentra was pushed about a foot due to the crash, troopers determined.
State police said that they found the Newtown man behind the wheel of the CRV was distracted by his cell phone.
While the three people were listed as suffering minor injuries, they told responding officials they would seek their own medical attention. Troopers added that all had seat belts on.
The Newtown man will be charged with careless driving, according to state police.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
