Fatal accident in Olmos Park claims one life

SAN ANTONIO - In a tragic incident last night, a person lost their life after an accident in the Olmos Park area.

The accident occurred just before 9 p.m. along the southbound lanes of 281 North, near the Hildebrand exit.

According to authorities, two vehicles were parked on the shoulder of the highway in an attempt to change a flat tire.

A third vehicle, a Toyota 4Runner, approached in the southbound lane when another vehicle drifted into their lane, causing them to veer slightly to the right. The 4Runner then came over the crest of a hill, which obstructed the driver’s view, and hit a trailer attached to one of the parked vehicles.

Tragically, the impact of the crash forced one victim off the Olmos Park bridge, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim suffered abdominal injuries and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the 4Runner cooperated with police and was pronounced not intoxicated. No criminal charges are currently pending.
