Man Standing Next to Disabled Car Hit, Killed in Silverado Trail Accident near Oak Knoll Avenue [Napa County, CA]

NAPA COUNTY, CA (March 19, 2024) — A man standing next to his disabled vehicle was hit and killed by a car on Silverado Trail near Oak Knoll Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 4:10 a.m. Saturday. Under unclear circumstances, a woman driving a southbound Toyota RAV4 SUV on Silverado Trail struck the man standing next to his disabled car. Subsequently, an off-duty Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputy, who had previously seen the man standing near his vehicle, returned to the scene but was unable to save his life. The Napa County Sheriff and Coroner’s Office has not released his name.

Minutes after, paramedics arrived, and investigators combed the area for clues surrounding the accident. Authorities believe the Toyota driver was not impaired but are looking into the man’s condition at the time of the incident.
