A 27-year-old woman was struck by oncoming traffic near her disabled vehicle along Interstate 80 in Hardwick Township, state police said.
The crash happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. Monday at mile post 0.3 in the eastbound lanes, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron told lehighvalleylive.com.
Valdaishi Simpkins, of Irvington, New Jersey was near her disabled vehicle along the right shoulder of the highway when a tractor-trailer heading east, entered the shoulder and struck her, Lebron said.
Simpkins later died from injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by New Jersey State Police.
