Harrisburg woman dead in Clay Township crash after she parked her car on turnpike

A Harrisburg woman is dead after a crash early Thursday morning on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Clay Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Kelly Little, 38, was killed when her Mercedes-Benz SUV was rear-ended by a Peterbilt tractor-trailer just after 2 a.m.

Little was driving westbound and stopped in the right lane, putting her car in park at mile marker 277.6, northeast of Brickerville. Police said the SUV’s head and tail lights were on, but the tractor-trailer was traveling 65 miles per hour and could not stop in time, rear-ending Little’s vehicle, flipping it off the road.

Little died at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver was uninjured.

County Coroner Stephen Diamantoni said the office was called to the scene around 6 a.m. and has not released the cause and manner of Little’s death yet.
