BOZRAH, Conn. (WTNH) – Serious injuries have been reported after a man was struck by a truck while walking around his disabled vehicle on Route 2.
According to state police, troopers responded to a report of a car vs. pedestrian at around 11:20 p.m. on Route 2 West in the area of Exit 23.
State police said the pedestrian was struck while attempting to walk around his vehicle, which had become disabled in the roadway after crashing into a portion of metal beam guide rail.
The 36-year-old pedestrian was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle- a HINO MODEL 258- reported no injuries.
State police said a portion of the highway was shut down following the crash but has since reopened.
