SUV hit by tractor-trailer after rain causes driver to crash in Cumberland Co.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — One person is hurt after they crashed their car on a rainy road and were subsequently hit by a tractor trailer on Tuesday in Upper Allen Township, police say.

According to the Upper Allen Township Police Department, the crash happened around 12:15 p.m. on Rt. 15.

Police say an SUV was driving north when the driver lost control because of standing rain water on the road.

The SUV hit the center concrete wall, spun to face oncoming traffic, and slid across the left lane into the right lane.

An oncoming tractor trailer was unable to stop in time and crashed into the SUV.

Police say the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
